Van driver killed in Bogura road accident

BOGURA, April 30, 2026 (BSS) - An auto-van driver was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in Nandigram upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased Hashem Ali, 35, was the son of Intaj Hossain from Kalikapur Sarakpara area of the upazila.

Police and local sources said Hashem Ali was transporting refrigerators on his auto-van and was travelling towards Nandigram, when a fast-moving truck coming from Bogura collided with his vehicle at the Kunderhat bus stand area, leaving the van driver critically injured.

Later, he died on way to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nandigram Kunderhat Highway Police Station Hafizur Rahman confirmed the incident, saying that the truck driver involved in the accident has been arrested. “Legal procedures are underway,” he added.
