HABIGANJ, May 8, 2026 (BSS) - A farmers’ gathering was held under the initiative of the District Information Office.
The event was organized on Thursday afternoon at the Sadar Upazila Parishad hall room.
National Parliament Whip G.K. Gaus was present as the chief guest in the event while Acting Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj Md. Abul Hashem and Acting Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shimul Akter spoke as special guests.
The meeting was chaired by Acting Deputy Director of the District Information Office Md. Walidur Rahman.
In his speech, Whip G.K. Gaus highlighted various government initiatives before the farmers, including the Family Card programme, Farmer Card, agricultural loan waivers, crop insurance, agriculture-related training, tree plantation and canal excavation projects.
He also expressed hope that all necessary demands for the development of the people of Habiganj would be fulfilled with the support of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
