Yaba worth Tk 3.5 crore seized in Teknaf

DHAKA, May 8, 2026 (BSS) - The Coast Guard has seized 70,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth nearly Tk 3.5 crore in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.

The information was disclosed today in a press release signed by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan.

According to the release, acting on a tip-off, Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special drive this afternoon in the West Sikdarpara area under Hnila Union of Teknaf Police Station in Cox's Bazar.

During the drive, Coast Guard personnel searched a house and seized the contraband.

However, no one could be arrested as the drug traders fled the scene after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard. Legal procedures regarding the seized yaba are currently underway.
