Visible changes in law and order and public service within two months achived : RMP Commissioner

RAJSHAHI, May 17, 2026 (BSS)- Mohammad Fayzul Kabir, the newly appointed Police Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), expressed his determination to bring visible, positive changes to the law and order situation and public services in the metropolis within the next two months. 

He made the statement today during an introductory and views exchange meeting with journalists from print, electronic, and online media held in the conference room of RMP Headquarters. 

Responding to various questions from journalists after the introduction session, the Police Commissioner said police operations will be further intensified to curb all types of crime, including drugs and gambling, in the city.

At the same time, instructions have been given to all RMP units to play an effective role in making police activities more service-oriented, people-friendly, and free from harassment. 

Referring to the IGP’s directives, he said, "Strict monitoring will be ensured so that no individual faces financial or any other form of harassment while seeking services at the Police Commissioner's office or any Metropolitan Police unit. Work will be done to develop every police station as a 'zero complaint' station."
 
New commissioner instructed RMP officers of all ranks to perform their duties independently, professionally, and with the highest priority given to public interest. 

He called on journalists and people from all walks of life to assist the police with specific information to build Rajshahi city as a safe, peaceful, and livable metropolis.
 
Among the senior RMP officials present at the exchange meeting were Md. Faruk Hossain, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime); Mohammad Khorshed Alam, Deputy Police Commissioner and Gaziur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner (CTTC).
 
Journalists from various print, electronic, and online media outlets working in Rajshahi were also present at the meeting.
