Man killed after being hit by train in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, May 18, 2026 (BSS) - A man, around 50 years old, whose identity could not be confirmed immediately, was killed after being run over by a train in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district this evening.

The accident occurred at around 6:40 pm in the Hatubhanga-Khanabari area when the Dhaka-bound Jayantika Express from Sylhet hit the man, leaving him dead on the spot, railway police said.

Sub-Inspector Dilip Chandra Sarkar of Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost confirmed the incident.

He said railway police recovered the body from the spot and later brought it to Narsingdi Railway Station.

Legal procedures regarding the incident are underway. The body is now kept at the Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost, and efforts are continuing to identify the deceased, he added.
