SIRAJGANJ, May 26, 2026 (BSS) - Three passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others critically wounded as a bus hit the auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka–Rajshahi highway in Solonga area under Ullapara upazila of the district around 7:00 pm today.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aslam Ali of Solonga Police Station said the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was heading toward Sirajganj town from Solonga with passengers on board.

When it reached the area in front of the RAB-12 headquarters at Charia, a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus coming from the opposite direction ran over it leaving three people dead on the spot, he said.

The OC said the injured were rescued and sent to the hospital. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased and injured victims, he added.
