DHAKA, May 26, 2026 (BSS) - Recreation centres across the capital are fully prepared to welcome visitors during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, with authorities expecting huge crowds during the seven-day vacation.
Officials concerned said parks, amusement centres and tourist attractions in Dhaka will remain open during Eid, while special arrangements and security measures have been taken to ensure safe and comfortable visits for holidaymakers.
Popular destinations include Bangladesh National Zoo, National Botanical Garden, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhanmondi Lake, Hatirjheel, Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil, Fantasy Kingdom and Nandan Park.
Authorities at the national zoo said renovation and beautification works, including road repairs and activation of CCTV cameras, have already been completed ahead of Eid.
The zoo is expected to receive between 100,000 and 150,000 visitors during the holidays and will remain open daily from 9am to 6pm.
To ease crowd management, 14 ticket booths and multiple entry lines have been arranged for visitors. Law enforcement agencies will also maintain strict security at major recreation centres across the capital.
Meanwhile, Shyamoli Shishu Mela will remain open from 10am to 10pm during the first seven days of Eid holidays, while Hatirjheel authorities have kept circular bus and water bus services ready for visitors.
Lalbagh Fort, located in Old Dhaka, is one of the country's most popular recreational and tourist attractions. The fort will remain open from 10am to 6pm, while the entry fee has been fixed at Tk 20.
Built on nearly seven acres of land in Shyampur on the outskirts of the capital, Buriganga Eco Park offers visitors a refreshing escape from the city's busy life.
Situated on the bank of the Buriganga River in Islampur of Old Dhaka, Ahsan Manzil stands as a symbol of Mughal-era heritage. The museum will remain open from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
Officials of different recreation centres expressed optimism that the venues would witness large gatherings throughout the Eid holidays.
