KURIGRAM, June 3, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in the Chinai area on the Kurigram-Rangpur highway in Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Ayub Ali, 55, son of Soleya Chowkidar of Fakirpara village in Sadar upazila.

The accident occurred when a sand-laden truck collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving Ayub, a passenger of the auto-rickshaw, dead on the spot and two others injured.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Kurigram General Hospital in critical condition.

They also seized the truck involved in the accident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Razarhat Police Station Mamunur Rashid confirmed the incident and said legal action would be taken in this regard.
