CHATTOGRAM, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - In an effort to enhance medical services for patients at Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital, KSRM, one of the leading steel manufacturing groups in the country has donated medical equipment worth approximately Tk 2 crore to the hospital.
On Saturday, June 27, KSRM's Deputy Managing Director, Selim Uddin, presented the medical equipment to Arif Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Budget) of the Health Ministry, and Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin, Director of CMC Hospital, during a ceremony held in the CMCH conference room.
The donated equipment comprises four hemodialysis machines, four real-time 4D ultrasound machines, and a cutting-edge GE brand color Doppler system. Stakeholders have indicated that this advanced equipment will significantly aid in the treatment of critically ill patients.
During the event, Arif Ahmed remarked that the budget allocated for the 2,200-bed CMC Hospital is inadequate in relation to its requirements. Consequently, numerous patients encounter financial challenges when seeking treatment. KSRM's contribution will alleviate the medical costs for patients and enhance service quality.
He expressed that if other industrial entities like KSRM also engage in such philanthropic efforts, the nation's healthcare sector will be further improved. Officials from various levels of KSRM and CMC Hospital attended the event.
