CHATTOGRAM, June 7, 2026 (BSS) – A mobile court of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has removed over 150 floating shops that were encroaching on footpaths in the area extending from the Andarkilla intersection to the sub-area of Sirajuddaulla Road, reaching Dewan Bazar.

Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidhya of the CCC conducted the eviction drive this afternoon.

The initiative successfully cleared the footpaths and roads of encroachments, thereby making them accessible for public use.

Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidhya said that more than 150 floating shops that were unlawfully occupying the footpaths and roads from the Andarkilla intersection to the sub-area of Sirajuddaulla Road, up to Dewan Bazar, were evicted, allowing the footpaths and roads to be opened for public access.

Additionally, the magistrate said that a case was lodged against four individuals for hindering traffic by occupying sidewalks and roads with shop goods and construction materials, resulting in a fine of Tk 18,000 being imposed.
