Over 357,000 children to receive Vitamin A+ capsules in Naogaon

NAOGAON, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 357,000 children in the district will receive Vitamin A Plus capsules as part of the National Vitamin A Plus 
Campaign scheduled to be held on June 28 across the country.

A discussion and planning meeting was held in Naogaon today in preparation for the upcoming National Vitamin A Plus Campaign.

Civil Surgeon's Office organised the meeting at 10 am in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office on Tuesday.

The session was chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Aminul Islam while Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam attended the meeting as the chief guest.

Deputy Director of the Local Government Division TMA Momin, President of the District DAB Dr. Md. Iskandar Hossain, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Munir Ali 
Akand and Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Department Golam Md. Azam were also present, among others.

Officials at the meeting announced that a total of 357,558 children will be administered Vitamin A capsules during the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 
on June 28. 

The campaign will be conducted simultaneously at 2,460 vaccination centers across the district's 11 upazilas and three municipalities.

To ensure successful implementation, health inspectors, assistant health inspectors, Family Welfare Assistants (FWAs), Family Planning Inspectors 
(FPIs), Community Health Care Providers (CHCPs), and volunteers are working in coordination.

According to the campaign plan, 34,765 children aged between 6 and 11 months will receive blue Vitamin A capsules while 322,793 children aged between 12 
and 59 months will be given red Vitamin A capsules.

Speaking to BSS, Civil Surgeon Dr. Aminul Islam said training has been provided to health workers and volunteers to ensure 100 percent 
implementation of the campaign. 

The activities of the campaign will be closely monitored through supervision and coordination mechanisms, he added.
