4 online gambling master agents held in Rangpur, Dinajpur

RANGPUR, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives arrested four master agents with online gambling goods from different places of Rangpur and Dinajpur districts on Wednesday. 
 
A press release signed by RAB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami confirmed the information here this afternoon.
 
A smart team from the RAB-13's from Dinajpur Camp arrested one person with a mobile phone set, a laptop with a bag and a motorcycle used for conducting online gambling activities from Raniganj Bazar under Ghoraghat police station of Dinajpur at 12:10 am. 
 
The arrestee is Md Shafiul Islam, 30, son of Md Bellal Hossain of village Kashigari under Ghoraghat police station of Dinajpur district. 
 
In another raid, a team from the RAB-13's Dinajpur Camp arrested three parsons with online gambling goods from Kuatpur Hamidpur (Bihari Para) village under Pirganj police station of Rangpur and at 5.40 am. 
 
The arrestees are Md Shahin Mia, 24, and Md Rana Mia, 25, of Kuatpur Hamidpur village under Pirganj police station of Rangpur and Md Nahid Hasan, 26, of village Srichandrapur under Ghoraghat police station of Dinajpur.
 
The arrested accused had been operating illegal online gambling activities using various online gambling platforms and used to make financial transactions with gambling customers using mobile financial services (MFS) like bKash, Nagad, Upaya etc. 
 
After filing cases against the arrested accused under Sections 20/24 of the Cyber Security Ordinance, 2025, the elite force handed over them to the concerned police stations today.
