NARSINGDI, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - Eight government officials, including the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila, have been served show-cause notices for being absent from their offices.

The information was disclosed today in an office order signed by Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan Keya.

According to the show-cause notice issued by the Establishment Branch of the Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner's Office, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land conducted a surprise inspection at 9am today and did not find the officials present at their respective offices.

The notice said their absence was contrary to government instructions and constituted misconduct.

Under the circumstances, the officials have been asked to submit written explanations in accordance with the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019, and the Secretariat Instructions, 2024 for such conduct.
