
RANGPUR, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) in special anti-crime drives arrested a total of 41 people, including those accused in murder, visa fraud, forgery, kidnapping, rape, anti-terrorism, drugs and other cases, in the last 72 hours.
"The six police stations and other units of RpMP conducted separate operations and arrested these accused from different areas of the
metropolis," a RpMP press release said here this evening.
The special operations were conducted under the overall direction of RpMP Police Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud.
A good quantity of heroin, Yaba tablets, ganja, gambling materials, fake band-rolled bidi worth Taka 6,80,000 and a covered van and other illegal goods were also recovered in the drives.
Legal action has been taken against the arrested accused.
RpMP will continue such raids to maintain the law and order situation in the metropolis, the release added.
