
RAJSHAHI, June 29, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has surpassed its target in the National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign 2026 by administering Vitamin 'A' capsules to more children than initially targeted.
According to the RCC Health Department, a total of 66,648 children received Vitamin 'A' capsules against the target of 66,395, achieving 100.38 percent coverage.
Of them, 9,146 children aged between six and 11 months were administered Vitamin 'A' capsules against the target of 9,113, recording 100.36 percent coverage.
Similarly, 57,502 children aged between 12 and 59 months received Vitamin 'A' capsules against the target of 57,282, achieving 100.38 percent coverage.
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to city residents, parents, officials and staff of the Health Department, health workers, volunteers and all others involved for making the campaign a success.
He said such public health programmes are vital to ensuring a healthy and safe future for children, adding that RCC will continue implementing similar initiatives to improve public health.
The National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign was held on June 28 at 384 centres across the city under the management of RCC.
A total of 768 volunteers worked alongside RCC health workers to implement the campaign.
