BGB seizes Tapentadol tablets, Eskaf syrup in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, July 5, 2026 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 2,500 Indian Tapentadol tablets, 27 bottles of Eskaf syrup and two motorcycles during an anti-smuggling drive in a border area of Lalmonirhat.

The seizure was made in the Machankura area under Aditmari upazila on July 4, according to a press release issued today by the 15 BGB Battalion.

Acting on a tip-off, BGB personnel conducted the drive in the area. Sensing their presence, several suspected smugglers fled the scene, leaving behind the motorcycles and contraband items.

The seized goods are estimated to be worth about Tk 910,800.

Legal action is underway in this connection.
