RAJSHAHI, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) today held an exchange meeting with leaders of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to discuss measures for ensuring a business-friendly environment, protecting entrepreneurs and maintaining law and order in the city.
The meeting, held at the RMP headquarters conference room, was chaired by RMP Commissioner Mohammad Foyzul Kabir.
During the discussion, the Police Commissioner sought feedback from business leaders on any law-and-order challenges affecting their business operations.
RCCI leaders expressed satisfaction with the overall law-and-order situation in the city but raised concerns over the coercive sale of substandard construction materials by certain dishonest individuals and groups during building projects.
They also voiced concern over the activities of teen gangs in several areas and urged the police to take effective action.
Foyzul Kabir said RMP is giving top priority to maintaining a safe and stable environment conducive to business and industrial growth. He urged entrepreneurs to report any law-and-order incidents to the police without delay.
He warned that no individual or group would be allowed to force anyone to purchase construction materials from a particular supplier, adding that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in coercion or influence-peddling.
On the issue of teen gangs, the Police Commissioner said legal action is being taken against offenders according to the nature of their crimes. He added that police stations have been instructed to organize awareness meetings involving parents, educational institutions, and community representatives to help prevent juvenile delinquency.
The meeting was attended by the president, vice-president, and other leaders of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with senior officials of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
