30 metric tons of rice distributed in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - Dinajpur-2 lawmaker Sadiq Riaz Chowdhury Pinak today distributed 30 metric tons of rice among 1,000 destitute people affected by natural disasters in Biral upazila of the district.

The aids were distributed across 12 unions and one municipality in the upazila under the auspices of the upazila administration and the Department of Disaster Management. 

Each of the beneficiaries received 30 kg rice. 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman declared that standing by the victims of natural disasters is the government's responsibility, said Sadiq Riaz Chowdhury.

He attributed the rice distribution as a gift from the Prime Minister. 

The MP expressed hope that this assistance would somewhat alleviate hardships of the affected people.
