BNP Cumilla North convening committee formed with Abul Hashem as convener

DHAKA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today formed an eight-member convening committee for its Cumilla North district unit with Abul Hashem as convener, dissolving the previous 41-member committee constituted in 2022.

The committee was announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

According to the release, the existing 41-member convening committee, approved on May 29, 2022, with Md Akhtaruzzaman Sarkar as Convener and A.F.M. Tarek Munshi as Member Secretary, has been dissolved.

Apart from Convener Abul Hashem, the committee comprises seven joint conveners. They are Syed Toufiq Ahmed Mir, Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Md Mohiuddin, Advocate Touhidul Islam Babu, Barrister Rizvi Ul Ahsan Munshi, Osman Gani Bhuiyan and Sufia Khatun.

The newly formed convening committee has been asked to hold the district council and constitute a full-fledged committee within the next three months.
