Truck-motorcycle collision kills 2 women in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 25, 2026 (BSS) - Two women have been killed in a head-on collision between a sand-laden truck and a motorcycle at the Rathbari area 
under Gangachara Model Police Station here on Friday night. 
 
"The motorcycle driver was seriously injured in the fatal road accident," Gangachara Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdus Sabur 
confirmed the matter this afternoon. 
 
The deceased were identified as Radha Rani Sarkar, 40, wife of Dulal Sarkar and Anjana Rani Sarkar, 50, wife of Dwijendra Nath Sarkar of Charaikhola 
Babupara village under Sadar upazila of Nilphamari district.
 
Critically injured motorcycle driver Ajit Chandra Sarkar has been admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital. 
 
The accident occurred when the sand-laden truck collided head-on with a motorcycle from the opposite direction at the Rathbari area killing the two 
women on the spot and injuring the motorcyclist seriously. 
 
The truck and motorcycle involved in the accident have been seized. 
 
"The bodies have been handed over to the relatives after completing the legal process. A regular case has been registered at the Gangachara Model Police 
Station in this regard," the OC added.
