Earning public trust is uppermost success of police member: RpMP Chief

RANGPUR, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Md Habibur Rashid has said that earning the trust and confidence of the public is the uppermost success of a police member in professional life. 

“Therefore, every police member should work sincerely to ensure humane and people-friendly policing by performing their duties with patience, tolerance, courtesy and professionalism for building public trust in the police,” he said. 

The RpMP Commissioner said this while delivering his directional speech to the police officers and members after inspecting their Weekly Master Parade held at the Rangpur Metropolitan Police Lines Ground on Sunday.

The parade was arranged with the aim of improving the professional standards, discipline, physical fitness and efficiency of the RpMP members and strengthening the overall preparedness of the force.

RpMP officers and members of various units participated in the parade in an orderly manner.

Assistant Police Commissioner Zobayer acted as the parade commander. 

Under his leadership, the participating RpMP members gave a formal salute to the RpMP Commissioner. 

The Police Commissioner inspected the parade, dress code, discipline and overall turnout of the members. 

At this time, he awarded the police members in recognition of cleanliness and good turnout. 

Later, he inspected the vehicles lined up by the RpMP and inquired about their maintenance and performance. 

While giving a directional speech to the officers and members present, the RpMP Commissioner said that regular PT and parade play an important role in increasing physical fitness, developing mental toughness, self-control and professional discipline. 

He directed everyone to maintain honesty, integrity and professionalism in maintaining law and order, preventing crime and providing civic services.

He specifically warned that no police member should be involved in drugs, online gambling or any other anti-social and illegal activities.

“Therefore, members of the police must completely refrain from these evil acts and perform their duties while upholding morality, honesty and professional values,” he said. 

RpMP Additional Police Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Naresh Chakma, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Ops) Tofail Ahmed, Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters and Administration) Additional DC (CTSB) Sanatan Chakraborty, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Maruf Ahmed, officers and police members of various units were present at the master parade.
