KHULNA, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the alleged Arman Bahini chief Arman alias Armin alias Dipu, 45, and 
recovered a foreign-made pistol, two one-shooter guns and 12 rounds of live ammunition from different locations in the city.

The elite force [RAB-6] conducted drives at Daulatpur and Phulbari Gate areas on Sunday after arresting Arman from Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district.

At a press conference at the RAB-6 office here today, its Deputy Commander Major Nazmul Islam said Arman had been on their wanted list for a long time 
and had allegedly become a name of terror in Daulatpur, Khalishpur, Aranghata, Dighalia and adjoining areas.

Following information provided by Arman, RAB recovered the foreign-made pistol from a tin-shed room hidden under a pile of bricks beside a house in Jabdipur area under Khan Jahan Ali Police Station.

The two one-shooter guns and 12 rounds of ammunition were recovered from inside a tong house at a fish enclosure in Kartikkul area under Daulatpur Police Station.

Three mobile phones and a pocket router were also recovered from his possession.

Major Nazmul said Arman confessed to his involvement in an attack on two Muslim worshippers after entering a mosque in Daulatpur on June 17 this year.

According to RAB, Arman had long been involved with an active criminal group operating in Daulatpur and Aranghata areas.

Intelligence sources said Arman had previously worked as the pickup driver of another alleged criminal, Humayun Kabir Huma. Later, following a dispute, he separated from Huma and formed his own group.

The sources alleged that rivalry between the two groups resulted in several killings in Daulatpur, Khalishpur, Aranghata and Dighalia areas.

Arman Bahini was allegedly involved in extortion, intimidation and establishing territorial dominance, creating fear among local people.

On November 30, 2025, alleged criminals Fazle Rabbi Rajon and Hasib Howlader were shot and hacked to death in front of the main gate of the Khulna court. Arman was released from jail two days before the incident.A police source said he might be questioned in connection with the double murder case.

RAB and police sources said several cases, including murder cases, have been filed against Arman with Daulatpur Police Station.
