RAJSHAHI, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS)- A women's gathering was held in Lalpur of Natore with the aim of informing the public about the implementation of the present government's election manifesto and priority programmes.
 
The gathering was held today on the premises of Nobinagar Government Primary School of Lalpur upazila, organised by the Natore District Information Office.
 
Natore District Primary Education Officer Abdul Hannan addressed the gathering as chief guest while Chairman of Iswardi Union Parishad (UP) Abdul Aziz Ranju was present as special guest.
 
With Md. Golam Mostafa, president of Nobinagar Government Primary School, in the chair, the welcome speech was delivered by Natore District Information Officer Abdul Awal. 

The programme was conducted by Jalal Uddin Babu, head teacher of Nobinagar Government Primary School.
 
At the gathering, speakers discussed various priority programmes in the present government's election manifesto and their implementation.
 
In particular, the women present were informed about the goals, objectives and potential benefits of various public welfare initiatives including the Family Card, Farmer Card, and canal excavation programmes.
 
The speakers said there is no alternative to education for the overall development of the country and for future generations. 

Families and society need to be more aware about sending children to school regularly, creating interest in education, and preventing dropouts. 

Along with ensuring education for women and children, everyone was called upon to play a responsible role in building an educated and aware society.
 
In addition, the gathering discussed prevention of child marriage, curbing the spread of drugs, increasing social awareness, and ensuring a safe future for children. 

Speakers emphasized the need for parents to be aware of the harmful effects of child marriage and drugs and to work collectively to prevent these social problems.
 
Local women, guardians, teachers, public representatives and people from various walks of life participated in the gathering.
