DHAKA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - Rumor Scanner, a leading fact-checking organisation in Bangladesh, has said the claim of the Finnish government's ban on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Muhammad Yunus is false.

Recently, a photo from a Facebook account named "Tamanna Akhter Yesman", claiming that the Finland government has imposed a ban on Dr Muhammad Yunus for failing to pay due respect to the freedom fighters of Bangladesh, has been circulated on the social media platform Facebook.

The post containing the photo further claims that Finland imposed this ban in accordance with Article 347 of the Constitution of Bangladesh.

The post also claims that the current President of Finland is a person named Barthel Ferber, Rumor Scanner said in an article published in its website today.

Later, the same claim was circulated from various Facebook pages and accounts.
Rumor Scanner team's investigation revealed that the claim is false.

Besides, there is no Article 347 in the Constitution of Bangladesh and the incumbent President of Finland is Alexander Stubb, not Barthel Harber.

In fact, an old photo of Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmytro Senyk's meeting with UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy has been circulated in the disputed claim.

A reverse image search for the photo circulated in the disputed claim found a photo posted on April 6, 2022, on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Official X (formerly Twitter) account, Rumor Scaner investigation showed.
