DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a video claiming that it was footage of military operation in Gopalganj, which is actually an old video of  the arrest of criminals in Mohammadpur.

In a statement, BanglaFact mentioned that leaders and activists of banned Awami League and Chhatra League attacked the leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP) on Wednesday during a march and rally in the Municipal Park area of Gopalganj town.

For this, the administration imposed a curfew in Gopalganj district. In view of this, a video has been circulated on social media Facebook claiming that the country's law enforcement forces conducted a military operation in Gopalganj during the curfew last night.

BanglaFact identified that this video is not a military operation conducted by law enforcement agencies during curfew last night in Gopalganj.

In fact, this is a video of a joint forces operation conducted in Mohammadpur in the last February, it added.
