SYLHET, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS)-Inter-district college football tournament was held today (Wednesday) in Sylhet on the occasion of Festival of Youth 2025 keeping ahead the slogan of "Let's change the country, change the world".

The tournament was held with the participation of thirteen colleges of thirteen upazilas and three colleges of city corporation of Sylhet, organized by the district administration and district sports association.

The final of the tournament was played and prizes were distributed among the winners held at Sylhet district stadium.

In the final, Tajpur Degree College of Osmaninagar upazila beat Jalalpur Degree College of Dakshin Surma by 1-0 to become the district champions.

Sylhet additional deputy commissioner (development and human resource management) Padashan Singh distributed the prizes among the winners.

District sports officer and ad hoc committee member-secretary of Sylhet district sports organization Nur Hossain delivered his welcome speech.

Teachers and officials of participating colleges, football referees of Sylhet district were also present in the prize distribution ceremony, conducted by Sylhet district sports association office secretary Bipul Chandra Talukder.

Shah Nazim Ahmad Tashim of Jalalpur Degree College, South Surma, Sylhet was named the player of the tournament.

Lebu of Tajpur Degree College, Osmaninagar, Sylhet emerged as the highest scorer while Saimon of Tajpur Degree College Osmaninagar, Sylhet was adjudged the best player of the final match.
