T-20 tournament begins on occasion of festival of youth

SAVAR, Feb 4, 2025 (BSS)- The T-20 cricket tournament has begun today (Tuesday) on occasion of festival of youth on Afaz Uddin school and college ground in Dhaka’s Dhamrai with a slogan of “Let’s change the country change the world.”

Two teams of Dhamrai municipality and sixteen teams of sixteen unions are participating in the competition, organized by Dhamrai upazila administration.  

Dhamrai upazila district officer Mamunun Ahmed Anik formally inaugurated the competition as the chief guest.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, he urged everyone to unite with the ongoing festival of youth.

Participating teams in the tournament are Dhamrai Municipality-1 Defenders, Dhamrai Municipality-2 Bibicon Royals, Kulla Union Kings, Chauhat, Kushura Gladiators, Sutipara Freedom Fighters, Durant Dhamrai Union, Sanora, Nannar, Khararia Youngsters, Balia, Gangutia, Jababpur, Royal and Baishakanda Kings XI.

Convener of the organizing committee SM Hasan said that the final game of the tournament will be held in festive atmosphere. 

He said organizing such kind of tournament would play an important role in creating a spirit of sportsmanship among the youths.
