Families of July uprising martyrs, injured get over Tk 13 lakh aid in Tangail

TANGAIL, Feb, 13, 2025 (BSS) – The families of July-August martyrs and injured ones have received over Taka 13 lakh as financial assistance in the district on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025. 
  
A total of Tk 13.55 lakh was distributed among nine families of martyrs and 217 injured youths at a cheque distribution ceremony organized by Tangail District Administration and District Council at District Shilpakala Academy.

Each martyr’s family got Tk 30,000 while each and injured youth received Tk 5,000.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdullah Al Mamun, Chief Executive Officer of the District Council Shafiqul Islam and District Civil Surgeon Dr Minhaj Uddin Mia were present on the occasion, among others.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Abdullah Al Mamun said, “The contributions and sacrifices made by the martyrs and the youths who were injured in the July-August uprising have been highlighted in the cheque distribution programme. Their courage will never be forgotten, and we, as a nation, will continue to honor their sacrifices."

The district administration and council reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the families of the martyrs and the injured, ensuring that their sacrifices continue to inspire the next generation.
