WASHINGTON, April 11, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - US talks with Iran will be direct, the White House said Friday, despite denials from Tehran, as the two sides prepare for a diplomatic showdown this weekend in Oman.

"These will be direct talks with the Iranians, and I want to make that very clear," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

"The president believes in diplomacy, direct talks, talking directly in the same room."
