Germany records new all-time temperature high of 41.7C

BERLIN, June 28, 2026 (AFP) - Germany set a new temperature record on Sunday at 41.7C, according to preliminary data from the German weather service (DWD).

A station in Coschen, near the Polish border in eastern Brandenburg, recorded 41.7C around 4:00 pm local time (1400 GMT), DWD told AFP -- breaking the previous record of 41.5C set just a day earlier in Drewitz.
