I want to make Nagarpur and Delduar upazilas free from juvenile gangs (Kishore gang), terrorism, drugs and extortion. Alongside this, I want to improve roads and infrastructure, ensure healthcare services, create employment opportunities for the unemployed and establish justice in line with the principles of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). If the people place their trust in me, I will fulfill my commitments, InshaAllah.
BSS: What instructions have you given to party leaders and activists regarding compliance of the election code of conduct?
Rabiul Awal Lavlu: Immediately after the announcement of the election schedule, I have removed my old campaign materials, including banners and posters, from my constituency. We have also provided necessary guidance to party leaders and activists to ensure strict compliance with the election code of conduct, he said adding that he was campaigning in accordance with Election Commission laws. However, these laws must be applied equally to all candidates, and the administration should remain neutral.
BSS: What is your position on the referendum on the July Charter?
Rabiul Awal Lavlu: We have maintained our stance against fascism for the past 17 years. Ultimately, it is the people who will decide whether they vote for Yes or No . The necessary reforms are already outlined in the 31-point reform proposal announced by our chairman. While seeking votes for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol in the parliamentary election, we also supporting a Yes vote in the referendum.
BSS: What are your expectations regarding the upcoming parliamentary election?
Rabiul Awal Lavlu: In the past, the Awami fascist government undermined the country s independence and sovereignty. Following their departure, this election aims to restore democracy. We expect the interim government to deliver a free, fair and neutral election.
The people expect a credible election on February 12 since they were unable to vote in 2014, 2018 and 2024. This time, voters have regained their voting rights. Like voters across the country, people in Tangail are eager to vote for their preferred candidates in a festive atmosphere.
