SANGSAD BHABAN, April 29, 2026 (BSS) - The third meeting of the Special Committee of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Committee Chairman Zainul Abedin in the chair.

Members of the Committee including Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, Dr. M Osman Faruk, State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari, Md. Nawshad Zamir, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin, Md. Mujibur Rahman, Md. Rafiqul Islam Khan, and G. M. Nazrul Islam attended the meeting, said a press release.

During the meeting, members held detailed discussions on the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026. 

The Committee decided to thoroughly examine the bills and submit its report to be placed before the Jatiya Sangsad session at the earliest possible time.

Senior officials from the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the Financial Institutions Division, and relevant officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were also present at the meeting.
