HC gets 25 new additional Judges

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS)- The government has appointed 25 additional judges in the High Court division today.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin in consultation with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution has appointed the new additional judges, according to a circular issued by the Law and Justice Division on Monday night.

The appointments will be effective for two years from the date of their swearing-in.

The newly appointed Additional Judges are: Md Anwarul Islam (Shahin), Advocate, Supreme Court; Md Saiful Islam, Additional Secretary (Senior District Judge), Law and Justice Division, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Md Nurul Islam, District and Sessions Judge, Chattogram; Sheikh Abu Taher, Secretary (Senior District and Sessions Judge), Law and Justice Division; Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Registrar General (Senior District Judge), Supreme Court; Rajiuddin Ahmed, Advocate, Supreme Court; Faisal Hasan Arif, Advocate, Supreme Court; SM Saiful Islam, Joint Secretary (Senior District Judge), Law and Justice Division; Md Asif Hasan, Advocate, Supreme Court; Md Ziaul Haque, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh; Dihidar Masum Kabir, Deputy Attorney General;  Jasmine Ara Begum, District and Sessions Judge, Habiganj; Murad-e-Mawla Sohel, Secretary (Senior District Judge), Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission; Md Zakir Hossain, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Dhaka; Md Rafizul Islam, Solicitor (Senior District Judge), Law and Justice Division, Dhaka; Md ManjurAlam, Deputy Attorney General; Md Lutfar Rahman, Deputy Attorney General; Rezaul Karim, Deputy Attorney General; Fatema Anwar, Advocate, Supreme Court; Mahmud Hasan, Deputy Attorney General; Abdur Rahman, Advocate, Supreme Court; Syed Hasan Zubair, Advocate, Supreme Court; AFM Saiful Karim, Deputy Attorney General; Urmi Rahman, Advocate, Supreme Court; and SM Iftekhar Uddin Mahmud, Deputy Attorney General. 

The newly appointed judges will take oath shortly, the circular said.
