DHAKA, Sept 03, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today convicted and sentenced one Md Sayed Mollah to imprisonment till his natural death in a case lodged over repeatedly raping a child in 2021 in Aganagar area under South Keraniganj Police Station.
 
 Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman of the Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-4 pronounced the judgment, court clerk Rashedul Islam told BSS.
 
 According to case documents, the 13-year-old victim used to live with her family on rent at Hossain Chairman Bari in Aganagar Choto Masjidpara area. The convict, who worked as a caretaker at the house, often disturbed her. On August 2, 2021, he raped the girl for the first time and threatened her not to tell anyone. He raped her again on September 23, 2021.
  
The girl later told her family, and her mother filed the case with South Keraniganj Police Station on September 24, 2021. Police filed the charge sheet on August 31, 2022. A total of eight witnesses testified in the case during the trial.
