Man gets life imprisonment for killing wife in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life- term imprisonment for killing his wife in Madhukhali upazila of the district in 2014. 

The court also fined convict Imran Fakir, 33, son of Afsar Fakir of Uluhat village of the upazila, Taka 10,000, in default, to suffer one more year in jail, said public prosecutor of the court Advocate Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan Ratan.

Judge of Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal Shamima Parveen delivered the verdict this afternoon in presence of the convict.

According to prosecution story, convict Imran beat his wife Dilruba Begum to death for dowry on August 5, 2014.

Later, her father Delwar Hossain filed a case with Madhukhali Police Station on August 6, 2014. 

The court gave this verdict as all the evidence and statements of witnesses proved the crime beyond reasonable doubt.
