Schoolteacher gets life for raping in Natore

RAJSHAHI, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - A trial tribunal here today convicted a schoolteacher and sentenced him to life in prison on charges of kidnapping and raping a student in Natore.

The convict, identified as Firoj Ahmed, 45, Headmaster of Mariam Memorial Girls High School at Nazipur area under Gurudaspur Upazila in Natore district, has also been convicted for another 14 years in another section of the case. 

Divisional Speedy Tribunal Judge Muhiduzzaman Muhit found the convict guilty of the charges and pronounced the verdict this afternoon.

The prosecution's story, in brief, is that Headmaster Firoj Ahmed abducted the student from the main gate of the school on October 1, 2022 and took her to one of his relatives' houses in Rajshahi. Afterwards, he raped her repeatedly.

A case was recorded with Gurudaspur Police Station in this connection. Subsequently, Firoj Ahmed was arrested.

Upon completion of the investigation, police pressed charges against him.
