Dhaka, Jan 05, 2026 (BSS): A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax records of Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan, the former assistant personal secretary (APS) to ex-Law Minister Anisul Huq.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the ACC plea, the accused Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan, while serving as APS to the former law minister and as an upazila chairman, abused his power and illegally acquired assets worth Taka 2.30 crore and remained in possession of those assets.

The ACC filed a case against him on August 28 last year. The case is currently under investigation.

For the sake of proper investigation, the application stated that it is essential to seize and examine the accused's original income tax records, covering the tax years from the opening of his income tax file up to the 2025-26 tax year.
