DHAKA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - In a major step toward modernising the country's justice delivery system, the government is set to expand the 'E-Bail Bond' system to eight more districts, aiming to strengthen transparency, accountability and efficiency while ending long-standing delays and bureaucratic hurdles in the bail process.

"The eight districts, where the system is going to be launched in the second phase, are- Manikganj, Bandarban, Meherpur, Joypurhat, Moulvibazar, Panchagarh, Jhalakathi and Sherpur," said Law Ministry Spokesperson Dr Md Rezaul Karim.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul is going to launch the system simultaneously in these districts virtually from the capital on January 21.

Earlier, the government initiated the system in Narayanganj on October 15, 2025, and its operation is going on successfully," Dr Karim added.

"The new system will eliminate 12 manual steps by just one click, significantly speeding up bail proceedings," the law adviser said at the time, adding, Narayanganj was chosen as the pilot district to symbolize freedom.

"This initiative will enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in judicial services. It is a significant step toward building a new Bangladesh. The system marks a new chapter in the digital transformation of the justice system, reflecting the government's commitment to modern governance and citizen-friendly services," he added.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb earlier confirmed that the software was developed entirely by officials of the ICT Division without any vendor dependency, which is an exceptional achievement.

He said the government is determined to bring legal and administrative services to citizens' doorsteps through technology, and the 'E-Bail Bond' is part of that broader effort.

Taiyeb also proposed developing a mobile version of the application to make the service more accessible to android users, adding that the ICT Division would extend full cooperation in this regard.
