Dhaka can’t speculate change in BD-US ties during Trump’s tenure: Touhid

Dhaka, Jan 15, 2024 (BSS)  - Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today said that Dhaka cannot speculate major change in Bangladesh-USA relations during the tenure of President Donald Trump.

"We have nothing to speculate," he told reporters at the foreign ministry here this evening.

The foreign adviser expressed his optimism that things will move on smoothly in terms of relations with the United States.

When the new administration in the US will assume office, Touhid said there might be some remarks from Washington, which we will look into accordingly.

"Our relations with India, China, and the US are very important. We will surely maintain balanced relations with these three countries protecting our own interests," he said,

He said Bangladesh will maintain good relations with these three countries protecting Dhaka's interests.
