Govt okays 'National Youth Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2025'

DHAKA, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today said the council of advisers today approved the draft of the 'National Youth Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2025'.

"The 'National Youth Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2025' got the final approval from the council of advisers today," he told a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy here after a meeting of the council of advisers.

The meeting was held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) here with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

Asif Mahmud said the policy has been prepared so that the government can provide support for the entrepreneurs as about 22 lakh youths enter works each year.
 
Under the policy, he said, a youth entrepreneur research and monitoring centre will be established to conduct research on the challenges and problems the entrepreneurs face across the country.

In coordination with the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Department of Youth Development will arrange annual entrepreneurs' fairs at district and upazila levels, the adviser said.
  
Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were present at the press briefing.

The youth entrepreneurship development policy was approved aiming to empower youths as a key driver and change agent of social, economic and environmental progress through innovation and entrepreneurship development; and enhancing youth involvement in good governance and social development by encouraging and ensuring the participation of creative and enterprising youth in the decision-making process.

Under the policy, 'Youth Shops' will be set up to sell products made by young entrepreneurs while various local, regional, national and international fairs will be arranged and participation of young entrepreneurs will be ensured in these fairs.
