DHAKA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today said that fulfilling the aspirations of the people following the July Uprising remains a key priority for the interim government.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, he wrote, "One of the core objectives of this government is to meet the hopes of the people after the July Uprising. Banning all activities of the terrorist party, Awami League, is a major step in that direction".

The adviser described the move to outlaw the Awami League as another victory for the July people.

He also warned that individuals within the establishment who continue to sympathize with the Awami League should remain vigilant, cautioning that any lapse could lead to downfall.

In a separate post the adviser revealed that a high-level investigation commission has been formed to investigate the escape of former President Abdul Hamid.

The commission, led by Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, has been tasked with submitting its report within 15 days.

"The government will ensure that all those involved in this incident are brought to justice," he added.
