Per capita income increases to $2,820 in FY25

DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS) – The per capita income in the country has increased to $2,820 in the current fiscal year (FY25) which was $2,738 in the previous fiscal year (FY24).

The per capita income has increased by $82 or by Taka 35,109 in the current fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year. 

According to the latest provisional figures of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the per capita income in the current fiscal year in Taka reached 3,39,211 considering the exchange rate with US Dollar at Taka 120.29.

The BBS figures showed that the country’s GDP size at current prices totaled Taka 55,52,753 crore or $462 billion in the current fiscal year which was Taka 50,02,654 crore or $450 billion in the previous fiscal year (FY24).

The investment, domestic savings and the national savings ratio to GDP in the current fiscal year reached 29.38 percent, 23.25 percent and 29.01 percent respectively.

The BBS provisional figures also showed that Bangladesh’s economy has grown by 3.97 percent in the current fiscal year which was 4.22 percent in the previous fiscal year (FY24).
