DHAKA, March 12, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached Sangshad Bhaban to attend the first session of the 13th parliament.

“The 13th session of the National Parliament is set to begin at 11:00 am today. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived at Sangshad Bhaban to attend the first session,” PM’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly told BSS.

Earlier, on February 23, President Mohammad Shahabuddin summoned the session on March 12.

The President, also the head of the state, convened the session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per the Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

According to the Constitution, the President must convene the first session of the new parliament within 30 days of publication of the gazette of the parliamentary election results.
