PIO calls for simplifying govt. services public friendly

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2025 (BSS) - Principal Information Officer (PIO) Md Nizamul Kabir today called for making the government services more public friendly through service simplification in the current era of information technology.

"In this era of information technology, government services must be made public-friendly through service simplification," he said at a workshop titled Implementation of IT-Based Service Simplification System at PID conference room at the secretariat here.

Noting that service simplification is an ongoing process, he said that several initiatives have already been taken to simplify the IT-based services of the Information Department.

Information bulletins, photos, features, news trends, news briefs and several other services released by the Information Department are being uploaded on the website at earliest time so that media workers and other service recipients can obtain important news quickly, he added.

Mentioning that it is possible to simplify government services even by following the existing government guidelines; he said steps of delivering services to people can be reduced through proper planning.

System Analyst of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md Mahbubul Kabir Siddiqui presented the main article in the programme while Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer M. Javed Iqbal conducted it.

Officers of the Department of Information and Regional Information Offices were present at the workshop.
