No barricades at DU entrances from today marking book fair

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)'s Traffic Division will take necessary measures to ensure orderly entry of vehicles atthese entrances and orderly parking of vehicles inside Dhaka University during the Amar Ekushey Book Fair to begin tomorrow.

Besides, members of the Dhaka University Volunteer Team and the MobileSecurity Team under proctor office of the university will provide overall support to DMP, said a press release of DU today.

The restrictions on vehicle control at the university entrances have beenrelaxed on the occasion of Amar Ekushey Book Fair to allow the book enthusiasts freely enter and exit the fair through DU campus.

The annual fair will begin tomorrow on the first day of February and it will continue throughout the month commemorating the martyrs of 21st February,1952 Language Movement.

Dhaka University authorities will not put up any barricades to controlvehicles during the fair.

Book fair organizer Bangla Academy authorities have already requested the DUauthorities to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on the occasion of the fair.
