DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on Jatiya
Party (JP) Secretary General and former State Minister for Labour and
Employment Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu and his wife Roksana Qader over graft
allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order,
allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said the ACC is probing allegations of
extortion, tender manipulation, land grabbing, money embezzlement from
different government projects against Chunnu and amassing illegal wealth by
him and his family members.

"The accused are trying to escape the country and if they succeed in doing
so, the probe against their alleged crimes will be hampered and lingering. So
for the sake of proper investigation, travel embargo should be imposed on
them," the ACC plea said.
