10 DU students receive Japan's NEF scholarship

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - Ten meritorious students of different departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences and the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded the 'Nagao Natural Environment Foundation (NEF) Scholarship of Japan' for their outstanding academic results.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan distributed the scholarships among the students at a function held at the VC's meeting room of the university today, said a press release here.

Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Md. Enamul Haque and DU representative of the NEF scholarship committee Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zabed Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.

Recipients of the scholarship are Sakunnahar Samanta (Botany), Khadizatol Kobra (Botany), Kaniz Fatema Bushra (Botany), Nowshad Ben Zaman (Zoology), Aspia Zaman Trisha (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), Masuma Tabassum Moumi (Microbiology), Sadia Mostafa Mun Mun (Fisheries), Al Moallim As Suny (Oceanography), Samiha Alam Tanisha (Disaster Science and Climate Resilience), and Abu Baser Mojumder (Meteorology).
