Bangladesh Navy does well at Intl Hifzul Quran Competition in Makkah

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy has achieved an outstanding success in the 8th International Hifzul Quran and Recitation Competition, held in Makkah of Saudi Arabia from January 31 to February 1. 

The competition was held with the participation of military members of different countries across the world, a release of the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this afternoon.

In the international competition, 179 military contestants from 32 countries took part in the competition, it said.

Two members of the Bangladesh Navy took part in the group-based competition and obtained silver medal in two categories. 

In the Holy Quran, Ghulam Rabbani of Bangladesh Navy and Mohammad Sabbir Ahmed received the silver medal in the ‘Para Group’ competition. 

The concluding ceremony of the competition was held at the Hilton Convention Hall of Makkah al-Mukarramah on February 9, the ISPR added.
