URP Planners Reunion, Planning carnival begins at RUET

RAJSHAHI, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS)- A two-day Urban and Regional Planning (URP) Planners Reunion and Planning Carnival 2025 began for the first time at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) here today.

Marking the festival initiated by the URP Department, a colourful rally was brought out from the RUET campus that paraded its roads followed by opening the festival through releasing balloons and festoons.

An inaugural ceremony and discussion was held at the central auditorium. Vice-chancellor Prof SM Abdur Razzaque addressed the discussion as chief guest saying the festival will contribute a lot towards generating and boosting awareness, professionalism and interruption among the students about urban planning.

Creativity of the students will also be flourished through their participation in different events.

With URP department Head Prof Ilmi Faridatul in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Students Welfare Deputy Director Monzur Murshed, President of RUET Planners Alumni Association Shubho Kanti Podder and Board Member of Bangladesh Institute of Planners Fahim Abedeen.

Salient features of the two-day festival are poster presentation, photography competition, project design, documentary projection and debate competition.
