Accused of martyred Abu Sayed murder case arrested in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Feb 16, 2025 (BSS) Police arrested Emran Chowdhury Akash accused of Abu Sayed murder case at Rangpur from Gangapara village in Islampur Upazila in the district early hours today.

According to police acting on a tip off a team of Islampur Police Station raided the house of Emran Chowdhury Akash at the village and arrested him at around 2 am. Police said Emran was the 58th accused of the martyred Abu Sayed murder case in the Rangpur district.

Officer-in-charge, Islampur Police Station, Md Saifullah Saif said Emran son of Shahin Shah Choudhury at Gangapara village in the Upazila was the fourth Joint Secretary General of Begum Rokeya University Chhatra League unit in Rangpur and a second year student of History and Archaeology department. He went into hiding after August 5, 2024, police added.
